Membership and election requirements

The following are the eligibility requirements for voting and running for executive committee offices:

  • PASSJ memberships are valid for the duration and renewable in March of any given year.
  • In order to vote in upcoming elections, you must be a member of PASSJ for at least one (1) year. To vote in the 2009 elections, you must be a member (with paid dues) by March 31, 2008.
  • In order to be eligible to run for office, you must be a member of PASSJ for at least two (2) years. To run for office in the 2009 elections, you must have been a member since March 31, 2007. Because this is the first time this announcement has been made, memberships made by November, 2007, will be back-dated and considered as having met the 2-year requirement for the 2009 elections.

Pakistani-Americans -- regardless of their religion, race, cast and gender -- who accept the aims and objectives of the Society, as stated in the Constitution and By-laws are eligible to register and be a member of the Society.
